$500k in Medical Supplies for $25k
Dear friends,
God has opened up an incredible opportunity.
We’ve just been approved to receive a large medical supplies donation—valued at $500,000—from SOS Louisville, a charity that rescues unused supplies destined for landfills and gets it in the hands of medical missions across the world.
The timing of this feels like one of those God things... just in the past few weeks, we’ve started dreaming up new ways to support our PA graduates in the field. While they’re the top-trained healthcare professionals in their communities, their ability to heal can sometimes be hindered by their rural clinic’s lack of resources.
For example, in May, our Year 5 PAs returned from their internships at remote clinics with stories of rusty scalpels, expired medications, and unsterilized tools. They were able to provide proper training to the healthcare workers and quickly elevate the quality of care for patients. But the standard of care was still limited by the medical supplies and equipment available to them.
This has quickly turned into a vision: we want to develop a distribution center to support our PA graduates and their rural clinics throughout Karen State.
SOS Louisville’s generous donation will help get it started! We will receive over 317,000 pieces of supplies across a wide range of medical operations: anesthesia, cardiovascular, clothing, dental, diabetic, drapes, dressing, general surgery, gloves, IV, lab, instruments, needles, OBGYN, orthopedic, ostomy, skin prep, sterilizers, sutures, syringes, urology, and more.
Equipment & Supplies Order Summary
All we have to do is get it here. From start to finish, it will cost $25,000 and take a few months to ship a full 40-foot container from Louisville, Kentucky to the Rain Tree Clinic.
This means that the time to ship is now. With rainy season ending soon, the race is on to get essential supplies shipped into Karen State before the rains begin again in March or April.
We aim to raise these shipping costs by mid-November. With your help. we can get this massive quantity of supplies to where it can do the most good: in the hands of our brave staff, students, and graduates to serve their people.
