Office

Earth Mission and the Free Burma Rangers have a medical office whose main functions are:

Medical Supply
Receive incoming donated supplies, and sort, inventory, and store them. Locally purchase items as needed. Pack up supplies in appropriate containers for delivery to medics or the medical school. Make a manifest list of all items sent out from this office.
Medics
Keep a current file on each Free Burma Ranger medic including classes attended, training given, and equipment and supplies distributed to them.
Medical Statistics
All medics travel on missions treating patients in the jungle using a medical reporting logbook with a key-word based data collection tool to track which patients were seen, what complaints were diagnosed and what medicine was dispensed. This data is entered into a database, and used to establish needs, guide procurement of supplies, medication and equipment, and target training and guidelines to meet the needs encountered by the teams (for example, see the bar chart below). The medicine, supplies, and equipment that medics carry on the field have been modified to more specifically target the conditions they are most likely to face in the field.
Medical Publications
Keep copies stocked of Burma Border Guidelines medical reference book in English, Karen, Burmese, and Shan languages. Copies of medical recording logbooks are distributed in Karen, Burmese, and Shan.
Medical Refugees
Organize medical appointments, housing, and funding for medical refugees.
